Guided tours of the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions are given by the Cultural Interpretation Department or the curators of the Royal Museum of Mariemont.

Mariemont Estate is only partially accessible to people with reduced mobility due to its very uneven terrain. There are parking spaces in the street perpendicular to the tree-lined avenue at the entrance to the park. The museum has a lift.

Mariemont estate is classified as a bird sanctuary. For this reason dogs, even on leads, are not permitted.

Mariemont has Exceptional Heritage classification. Cars and bikes are therefore not permitted on the estate (with the exception of service vehicles).

Access to the museum

The museum is fully wheelchair and pushchair accessible.

There is a lift and accessible toilets. Seats are available. There is disabled parking close to the museum. To access these spaces, make yourself known by using the intercom at the retractable bollards at the entrance to Mariemont estate.

The museum has Access-i certification.

From Brussels: E19, exit 20 (Feluy), N59 to Thuin, then Fayt-lez-Manage and Mariemont.

From Charleroi and Mons: E42, exit 19 or 18bis (Chapelle-lez-Herlaimont), N59 to Thuin, then Fayt-lez-Manage and Mariemont.

The estate of Mariemont is located 30 minutes from Charleroi and Mons and 1 hour from Brussels.

The museum is in the centre of the estate

The main entrance is via the tree-lined Drève de Mariemont. There is no public parking inside the estate. Please park on the Drève de Mariemont or on the roadside. A tarmac path leads up to the museum. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the entrance to the museum.

There is also an entrance via Rue du Parc at the bottom end of the estate (Sud gate). There are two car parks there. An uphill ash track takes you round the estate and up to the museum. Approximately a 20-minute walk.

Public transport.

From La Louvière Centre station take the TEC 82 bus in the direction of Morlanwelz.

From La Louvière Sud station take the TEC 30 bus in the direction of Morlanwelz.

The bus stop for the Domain and Royal Museum of Mariemont is “La Hestre – Les écoles”.

Car park for deliveries behind the Museum.

If you are borrowing a “Musée-Valise” (museum in a suitcase) or making a delivery, you can access the staff car park. Make yourself known by using the intercom at the retractable bollards at the Drève de Mariemont entrance.
