Project « Egyptian treasures from Wallonia »

In 2012, the Wallonia region placed a collection of several hundred Egyptian objects on long term loan with the museum. Belgian and French Egyptologists and young researchers are helping us to examine these truly remarkable pieces.

This collection comprises amulets, funerial statuettes, stone crockery, jewellery and some pieces of reliefs. Some of these objects are already on display in the museum’s permanent collection but others require further investigation.

The full results are published in the museum’s online collections while a document listing the most remarkable pieces is being published by the Wallonia Heritage Agency (AWAP).
