Project « The ‘Oser le musée’ initiative: experiencing the space differently »
The ‘Oser le musée’ programme for future teachers is really driving forward our research into museum mediation. The aim is to bring museums into the realm of the everyday, to break down the barriers between them and schools, to perceive them as a place of insights and to develop the experience so that it leaves a lasting impression.
How do you approach an unknown object? How do you handle fragility? How do you look, listen, understand and interact?
Capitalising on the knowledge of experts and non-experts alike, this experimental programme fosters audacity and co-creation. It is truly interdisciplinary in that it calls upon concepts such as body language, rhythm and measures and visual expression.

The research carried out at Mariemont is organised around 8 thematic areas which reflect the specific features of the scientific work carried out in the museum sector.
There are around thirty collaborative research projects in which members of the Mariemont scientific team are involved.
The results of this research are made available to the scientific community and are the subject of ongoing accessibility work to ensure that they are passed on to the public.
