Vitrine d'arts décoratifs

The Decorative Arts section is home to almost 2,000 porcelain and ceramic pieces.

These are mainly porcelain dinner services made by the Tournai factory but there are also contemporary pieces spanning the period from the late 19th century to today, some dinanderie (ordinary objects made from yellow copper) and furniture pieces representing the art industries.

It covers several themes: developments in decoration techniques (à la mouche, au ronda, for instance) and colours (gold, blue, monochrome, etc.), the history of the Tournai porcelain factory and the techniques used (firing, enamelling, etc.).

This section is located on level -1 of the museum.
