Sensing the Buddha
From 21 September 2024 to 11 May 2025, the Domain & Royal Museum of Mariemont presents "Sensing the Buddha", an unprecedented immersion in the world of Buddhism.
The exhibition features innovative scenography that reveals the many representations of Buddha, the Buddhist pantheon, and its rituals.

Travel to the four corners of the world
Domain & Royal Museum of Mariemont, home to treasures from all the major civilisations (Ancient Rome, Ancient China, Greece, Egypt and the Near East) that sit alongside those from our own local history (Belgium and Hainaut), takes you on a unique journey through the eras and cultures.
Our major collection of works of art and historical treasures is split into seven key sections: Regional & Estate Archaeology and History, Decorative Arts, Greek and Roman Antiquities, Egyptian and Near East Antiquities, Non-European Art and Valuable Books.

On the agenda
An exceptional estate
The estate, designed in the 19th century in the style of an English country garden, is an incredible open-air museum. Nature meets culture as you wander round its 45-hectares and take in the works of art, remarkable trees, archaeological remains and historic monuments.
